Fellowship Groups

For people who are new to Remuera, you will find our parishioners are a wonderful way of getting to know people in the area, as well as making a contribution to the mission of the church, and promoting Christian family life.

Homegroups

June 2009 update:

St Aidan's has 5 homegroups at present with a combined total of nearly 50 regular participants.  Groups meet weekly for seven consecutive weeks within each of the four school terms.  Anyone in a group can host a meeting and occasionally all groups meet together. Currently one group meets on Monday afternoons, with two groups meeting on each of Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Being part of a homegroup fundamentally offers people the opportunity to get to know fellow parishioners at a closer, more intimate level. We explore our faith together in many ways with discussion and prayer being at the forefront. We attempt to offer a safe place to share thoughts and experiences as we try to deepen our understanding of God.  To help stimulate good discussion and to give everyone the opportunity to contribute groups share prayer, the reading and study of the scriptures, communion, movies, guest speakers, testimonies, good food and much laughter!

If anyone is interested in joining a group, then please reply by email or come and find me in the Gathering Area after most 9.30 Sunday services. Thank you.
Paul Kelly-Moore.

M & M's

Mary & Martha

Evening Women's fellowship

This group is an active part of the Saint aidan's outreach of Christ's love in the world, in keeping with our Mission Statement of the Parish of Saint Aidan's:

In the fullness of relationship with God, we are a community of:
Worship - celebrating God's love.
Caring - being God's love for one another.
Mission - taking God's love into the world.

Ladies - You and your friends are invited to St Aidan's Evening Group for Women.

M & M's meet regularly throughout the year on the second Monday of each month (February to November) at 7.30pm in the Gathering Area.

This group has now enjoyed its 3rd year of gathering women from throughout the parish for times of entertainment, prayer, study and laughter. There are approximately 50 women on the M&Ms roll, and each month anywhere from 10-20+ are able to join in the evening's event. The group is largely self-directed. This self-reliance comes from an understanding that participants, as women of faith, carry the resources they need to create and engage in meaningful assembly. Presentation of material – topics, prayers, music etc – is often provided by women in the group working in teams. Topics last year included: Monday Worship in Holy Week; the joy of playing; Movie Night; attending an Alpha evening; flower arranging; and the Lavender Lady.

As well as being a resource for women of the St Aidan's community, M&Ms is also seen as an outreach event for all women. The invitation is continually extended to use this time as a means to offer the light and love of Christ. We are all looking forward to another year of successful and relevant M&Ms gatherings!
