Prayer Kids' Club
Prayer Kids Club for Advent and Christmas 2009
Greetings to all Club members
The end of the year is fast approaching. This is an exciting time for Christians as we prepare to remember with joy the coming of Jesus Christ. Just over 2000 years ago He was born at Bethlehem, a small village outside the city of Jerusalem in Israel/Palestine. Now there is a church on the likely site of the cave or barn under the innkeeper's house. Lots of people will gather in Bethlehem to celebrate Christmas. Millions of Christians will gather in their local churches to celebrate Christ's presence everywhere. Do try to join them wherever you are. Here is a prayer to use in Advent as you prepare for the Festival of Christmas. Then there is an illustration and prayer from Prayer Kids: Everyday prayers for today's children. In it you will find lots of other prayers to use in this Season. If you want a copy for yourself visit www.staidans.co.nz/prayer books. Maybe someone in the family would buy it for you as a Christmas present, and then through your prayers you could spread Jesus's message of hope and peace throughout the world.
Getting ready in Advent
 Jesus, Advent is such an exciting time as we prepare for your birthday at Christmas.
There are cards to send, presents to buy, carols to learn, and secrets to keep.
Help us in all this activity to remember why you had to come: to put a stop to selfishness and greed, and to bring new hope and peace to those suffering and at war.
Open our ears to the message of the angels and help us care for those in need, for your love's sake.
Amen. |
Christmas is here again
 Jesus, Christmas was your birthday, and I want to celebrate it with you.
Thank you for sharing our world and showing us how to live to the full.
Help me to share your love with others as I choose the presents I give to family and friends.
May the joy of the angels, the faith of the shepherds, and the courage of the wise men, be your gifts to us as we join in worship on the festival of your birth. |

Thanks God
Thank you God for giving me the morning, for every kind word; for little sorrows, and things we can share with others;
for all living things around me(especially for my pony's healing);
for all my pets, my family and my friends;
for all the abilities we have, and the materials we use, like the PC and my bike.
Thank you God for loving us and helping us in every part of our life.
We are so blessed with the world you have made, the family we are part of, and this loving school in which we learn.
So thank you God for life itself and talking to you in prayer.
Amen.

When life in difficult keep us secure and working together.
In times of sickness give us healing and comfort.
