Upcoming Events:
Thank You Morning Tea, Sunday 24th November
After each service (8am and 9:30am) there will be a special morning tea to thank all of our wonderful volunteers for the tremendous amount of work you do in keeping our parish running. Every week, dozens of volunteers are involved in a myriad of ministries around St Aidans’ site, and this is our opportunity to say “Thank you” to you all in a small way.
Ordination Service, Saturday 30th November
The Bishop has confirmed that Kate Shrigley will be ordained to the diaconate, and Reverend Christina Turner will be ordained to the priesthood, on Saturday 30th November Holy Trinity Cathedral at 10am. Wonderful news! Please mark the date in your calendar so that we can have a great representation from the parish supporting them both on their special day.
Christina will continue her ministry at St Aidan’s and be licensed as Priest Assistant continuing in her non-stipendiary role. Please pray for them both as they prepare for their ordinations.

Notices:
New Vicar Appointment
It was announced on Sunday 15th September that The Reverend Sarah Stevens-Cross will be the next Vicar of St Aidan’s.
During the transition period ahead of Louise’s retirement in February, Sarah and Louise will be Co-Vicars. Sarah will be inducted into our St Aidan’s Parish on Tuesday 3rd December at 7pm
Sarah comes to us from St Andrew’s Epsom where she has been Vicar for five years. Collaborative team ministry, faith formation, spirituality, and adaptive leadership are just some of the skills and passions Sarah brings as she joins the St Aidan’s team later this year.
She will be known to many of you – having been a parishioner here for 10 years until she was ordained in November 2009 and moved to Holy Trinity Cathedral, as curate. Three years later, Sarah moved to the Bay of Islands to be priest-in-charge of a rural Parish and an Enabler, training and facilitating Local Shared Ministry teams.
It was in Northland that she met and married, keen sailor and ferry skipper, Richard Cross. Richard and Sarah are the proud parents of 8-year-old Keziah and 3-year-old Sophia. Together they enjoy sailing, cycling and travel. They will be joined at No. 6 Ascot Ave by Cleo, the cat
Congratulations to Sarah, and our prayers are with her whānau and with the St Andrew’s community as they prepare for their upcoming change.
