A message from our Advocacy at St Aidan’s group:

“From our meeting, 29 Nov.

30 cards made, to be sent to people unjustly treated around the world. Their stories are of courage and suffering in the face of cruelty and oppression in Angola, Argentina, Belarus, Canada, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Turkey and Viet Nam.

3 letters (and counting - more to come in), addressed to the people in those countries who can do something to fix the injustice, but haven’t. Yet.

One person has been in prison in Belarus for some years and hadn’t seen her family or friends for over a year, but very recently her father has been allowed to visit her. This shows how international pressure can change dire circumstances.

Kia kaha, kia manawanui.”

Prison Chaplaincy teams distribute blank Christmas cards in early December so the men and women in the Auckland region prisons are able to maintain contact with whānau.

If you are able to donate some blank cards (regular-sized and no coloured envelopes), please bring them along to church this Sunday 🙏

Each year, the Auckland City Mission | Te Tāpui A

Each year, the Auckland City Mission | Te Tāpui Atawhai offer the families they have supported through the year extra help with food and gifts over Christmas.

Bring your donations of toys, gifts, and special Christmas food items (as well as the usual food staples and hygiene items) to church over the coming weeks - final drop off by 3pm Tuesday 17th December.

Together we can bless those in our city who need a little extra support this Christmas.

Our young adults saw the Aurora borealis last week when they were in Iona. A beautiful way to end their time there 🌌

They are currently in Rome, nearly at the end of their journey! Thank you to all who have supported them in prayer 🙏
